Dr. Rangsun Sitthichai MD specializes in adult and child psychiatry. He has an academic appointment as an Assistant Professor in Pediatrics and Psychiatry at the University of Massachusetts. He completed Child and Adolescent Psychiatry fellowship training at Boston Children’s Hospital, Harvard Medical School, and General Psychiatry Residency training at the Saint Louis University School of Medicine. He graduated from medical school and completed Pediatrics training in Thailand (Chulalongkorn University, Bangkok, Thailand). He has clinical experience with a diverse array of patients of different ages, medical, psychiatric conditions, and ethnic and cultural backgrounds. In addition, he has extensive experience providing evaluation and treatment services to transitional age youth and young adults with a range of Autism Spectrum Disorder and Neurodevelopmental Disorders. He provides a teaching responsibility and clinical psychopharmacology supervision for the child psychiatry fellows. He is masterful at integrating different treatment modalities into clinical care. He has tried to integrate psychodynamic aspects of prescribing medication for children and adolescents as he recognizes the importance of understanding psychodynamic concepts when treating difficult or treatment-resistant cases.
Dr. Sitthichai approaches the clients by understanding each client as a whole person, deep respect for individuals as unique human beings by using a creative process and open-ended communication. He is mindful in prescribing medications. His ultimate treatment goals not only target the treatment of mental health problems, but he will take effort to facilitate clients’ personal growth and improve their vitality.
